Do you have AI Derangement Syndrome?

The symptoms include
>calling AI a word predictor
>telling people they have "AI psychosis"
>hating AI art
>calling AI, "slop"
>>
Stop being bigoted against AI

I think it's valuable technology that's not going away. But the actual use cases are more limited than it's marketed for right now.

All that has been achieved by mainstream use in stuff like writing and research is the loss of cognitive ability and executive function at levels even higher than the adoption of the internet and search engines. At a macro level it does not improve productivity in normal employees to justify this drop and opens up a whole load of new problems in future competency.

In practice it only serves the more complete integration of the lower and middle class into a position as mere economic subjects of the elites.
>>
>>522611652
OP, you clearly suffer from advanced AI psychosis. Get help.
>>
>>522611652
I met someone with AI psychosis. They asked chat GPT everything. They don't think they just do what the AI tells them, even basic shit like what should I have for breakfast. It's a growing dependency

I disagree. I sat for an hour Friday night entering law queries into ChatGPT. It's able to provide complex answers to complex questions. But people still have to be intelligent and have an attention span to analyze the output. And like a search engine, ChatGPT often can't nail EXACTLY what you're asking for. If I want a waterproof jacket with down insulation and a hood in black, Google can't show me every single jacket matching that description. It can show me a few jackets like that. It can show me retailers that sell jackets like that. It can show me similar jackets, but with different insulation or a different color. But usually, I have to take the info and search further and distill it further.

I use AI in some capacity or another for almost an hour every day.
AI is great.
I don't care if it kills us all and humans go extinct. The only person I've ever cared about is gone now so I have nothing to lose.
>>
>>522611652
I think it's just a popular thing to hate without understanding it in some circles. Not long ago there were people bitching about PCs in a similar fashion. I remember it because I was born in '90. Like anything it's corporate misusing cool technology to fuck everyone over instead of make more cool shit. It's always been a cooperate problem. Pajeets and all
>>
>>522612665
Me too. I'm sorry to hear that though.

Your AI psychosis is causing you to make ridiculous assumptions about randos online.

>In practice it only serves the more complete integration of the lower and middle class into a position as mere economic subjects of the elites.
I especially disagree with this. Elites rely heavily on citizens' ignorance of the law, and ignorance in general. People who only care about NFL and Housewives? Yeah AI won't matter to them. But people who seek to hold government and corporations accountable - not destroy everything, but simply have transparency - AI will be a human masterpiece in achieving that goal.
>>
Ir is AI, however it's an artificial idiot. It's not useless but an idiot it is. AI told me the gorilla in the game Rampage destroys cities partly because the army attacked him. But actually the army attacks him because he destroys cities. Also, you have to check everything it does. AI told me Boutros Boutros-Ghali had a son named Ghali Boutros-Ghali, but he had no son with this name or children at all.
>>
>>522612060
AI only improves productivity in people who are already good at what they are doing.because then it becomes an actual bonus and boost and not a crutch to lean on.
>>
>>522612528
So it's simply a search engine like google was 10 years ago before being flooded with shit? Nice technology you have there.
>

No it isn't, any remotely complex question will have a wrong answer when it's not straight up made up shit, it just may seem correct to you if you don't know enough about the topic (and why would you ask something you already know about) that it will be bullshit you with mumbo jumbo that seems logical but is actually completely wrong.
>>
>>522612364
>I don't use AI much
>but you guys are deranged
They also got really insecure when asked why they use AI for everything....hmm.
>>
>>522612854
Not even close. When you search some looney shit on Google, you get no results. When you start having conversations with your phone about loonie shit, it feeds you more of the loonie shit, like a feedback loop. They end up thinking AI is god or something, or contains hidden knowledge.
>>
>>522612528
>>522612705
These are good points, but would you disagree with the idea that what you're really looking for then is better cataloguing and research infrastructure in general? It seems the importance of the "intelligence" aspect to you is the dynamism with which it queries and collates extensive and often obtuse sets of information like law, but how seriously do you really take its "intelligence" for example in actually giving interpretations by itself that you would trust? For example, the U.S. code is a complete mess and designed to be extremely intimidating to nonlawyers so I can definitely see where you're coming from.
>>522612779
This really is the crux of it. I'm in college right now and it lets people completely ignore anything they don't find interesting when really the uninteresting parts are almost the most important part of developing your cognitive capacity.

>I sat for an hour Friday night entering law queries into ChatGPT. It's able to provide complex answers to complex questions.
I'm an actual lawyer who uses AI daily in my job and you're insane if you think anything these models reply back to you is anywhere close to accurate in terms of law. It usually gets legislation right (although I've seen plenty of fuck-ups, usually by providing outdated legislation) but it's completely worthless in case law or anything that requires any systematic interpretation.
>>
>>522613034
>dynamism
You're right. The speed and depth and accuracy of AI is formidable. To enter 5 pages of text, and ask analysis questions, and get mult-tiered answer in 7 seconds is like alien technology. I stare at the floor trying to wonder how the fuck. I'm not "scared" of AI, but it's not a parlor trick, it's a tangible paradigm shift like a car or plumbing.

>interpretations
Cause and effect. My field isn't law, it's science. I was searching law because I'm a plaintiff in a lawsuit. The U.S. code IS a daunting mess, but AI could transform it. I don't think humans have an objective interpretation of law. The judge in court that day determines the outcome, right? Are they going to uphold an extremely high bar to prevent fallout? Are they especially disgusted by the facts, or impressed by the facts, or whatever? There is a part of judging human behavior that will always be human, or idiosyncratic, I think.
>>
>>522613697
1. I'm not a lawyer
2. My lawyer used AI and is winning my case. In other words, he's competent in practicing law yet he likes AI. Different opinions. I don't care either way.

I'm not saying that lawyers shouldnt use it. They are very important tools for a multitude of reasons. It's just that you should never rely on it for information, especially if you don't have access to the primary sources like annotated legislation or something like westlaw.
And even for information, it is very different to use these models as indexing tools to referennce information that you already know and learning from it.

You still have to triple-check whether those answers are even remotely correct. LLMs tend to hallucinate and spew complete bullshit

You said it lol, AI kills the advantage that whites/colonizers have from higher IQs. Every "shitskin" in the future will have access to someone with a 200iq and a PhD in everything. All /pol/ can do is seethe and post screencaps of them trying to get ChatGPT to say that "nword(s) are subhuman" and the holocaust never happened, or Indian mud memes. Meanwhile already half the tech nerds that used to be on your side are coming to ours because they foolishly simp for catgirl AI "girlfriends" and porn. They're in this thread right now. So get fucked. We won, Timmy.

I suppose I have a disdain for Actual Indians. Depends on what the particular AI is about and what they're doing. If they're actually assimilating then it's not too bad (even if they're unusual).
