Are cities like Portland, Cleveland and Seattle nice places to live? In my head, I picture them as classic white hipster sort of places. I used to look down on those types to some extent, but now that pretty much every city in my area is at least half hispanic/black/middle eastern, I really miss being able to safely walk down the street after 8 pm and get a craft beer surrounded by nonviolent people with an IQ over 96

If you're outside the city they're mostly chill and normal, even cozy. They are quite grey, rainy and depressing half the year. But great mountains, forests, natural splendor all around both.

If they're anywhere though, they're in Portland. Seattle, not so much. Seattle is like most cities now, full of browns and tech-centric. There's still an arts scene but it's not cool anymore--mostly rich kids now who shit on canvas and call it art or graffiti "artist" trash.
