I believe "qualifications" such as: experience, certifications and licenses have had more of a negative effect than positive.

It has made employment more expensive in countries like America where in certain states you need to fulfill requirements which requires time and money. This doesn't necessarily lead to higher quality of work especially when companies are now trying to outsource the labor to immigrants outside the country, illegals or AI.

This means not only is the ability to acquire employment more expensive, but its given to people who don't fulfill the requirements, who went through different means or a robot can replace you easily (they just want to cut labor costs).

Many older people when they entered the job market in their 20's did not need the degrees nor certifications that people in 2025 in their 20's need.

These are barriers created by the government that one can argue screwed over many of their working class.
