>>

Why did you think Obama ordered all communications to be digital?
>>
>>523305904
Nigger, if you have a device that uses cellular connectivity, the literal connection to the towers themselves are enough for triangulation.
>>
>>523305904.

assume all phones can be tracked, unless you can modify it yourself, certainly.
>>
>>523306070
This won't work if OP is being tracked by glowies

All phones connect to either a cell tower or wifi which will track you regardless, you would need a phone that lets you spoof various elements of the networking stack or build some kind of repeating device that spoofs as someone else whose already authenticated. So tl;dr no unless you have a good off-shore vpn setup with a shady service provider.
>>
>>523305904
GrapheneOS installed on a jailbroken or rooted smartphone is the only option.
>>
>>523305904
All phones can be tracked, even the old ones. However, you could try an old phone that supports voip/sip and have a vpn in front of it.
>>
>>523305904
Short wave ham radio, but you can still be trangulated and anyone can listen. Number stations are the only truly safe form of communication and that's why the spooks use them. Anything that goes through phones is monitored, no matter what, not even graphene stops the back end.
>>
>>523305904
every device that emits an electronic signal is trackable by its very nature.
>>
I had to change phones because the 3g was shutdown and 5g refuses to support my gray phone (even though it's 5g) because I don't have a Samsung or Apple phone, some fucking bullshit
>>
Too many Aussies ITT im out, seriously can't stand those fuckers
>>
>>523305904
why do you need a phone all the time?
youre gonna get tracked somehow. even dumbphones will still get you by pinging towers.
get a dumb phone with removable battery, but stop taking it everywhere with you.
Only take it when you need it.
>>
>>523305904
anonymity is a process not a product or service you fucking idiot

Why do you think the government disconnects all of its important shit from the internet and shields it from any electromagnetic radiation? If they connected it to the internet then kids would be hacking their shit all day.

You must define the capability of the adversary in that context and then apply mitigations for every capability. Then it's not a matter of getting caught, but a matter of how much money you are willing to pay or how much time to spend developing expertise.

Samsung Galaxy XCover7 Pro — One of the rare 2025-era mainstream phones that returns to removable batteries. It’s built rugged (IP68 / MIL-STD 810H), designed for outdoor or work use, and supports 5G, making it a rare “swap-battery but modern phone” combo.
Android Authority
+1

Fairphone 6 — A strong pick if you care about sustainability, repairability, and long life. The battery is user-replaceable (with a screwdriver), and many parts are modular. Great longevity/support if you want to keep a phone for many years.
Fairphone

Fairphone 5 — Still one of the better-known modular phones with a removable 4200 mAh battery, expandable storage, and long-term software support. Ideal if you want a “keep it running for years” device.

Samsung Galaxy XCover6 Pro — A somewhat older rugged device with a removable battery. Less modern than the XCover7, but still useful if you prioritize battery replaceability over cutting-edge specs.

Bonus: variants like Fairphone 5 5G (unlocked / dual-SIM) are also available — these give you the same removable battery + modular design with flexibility for different carriers.

No. Don't try for anyi tracking phone. The few that work stand out as working, the many that don't give you a false sense of security. Use the most popular phone for your budget, then limit it's exposer to yourself.
Dont isolate it with rf bags or sheilding.
Make a habit of leaving it on a charger out of the way.
No vpns or other meta data apps or sites.
Avoid social media and shopping, just calls texts and doom scrolling.
The idea is grayman the use of the phone. Hide its use in average, to trake the phone is to sort it from the majority with the most common details.

Yeah shit sucks, I was still using an old Nokia E55 up until last year. Got a new Nokia 235 4g but it's dogshit compared to my old one.

Fuck "smart phones"
>>
>>523305904
How paranoid are you?
>the IMEI of a phone can't be changed, and is sent unencrypted over the radio every time the phone pings the tower.
>the chips on the phone itself are likely backdoored and running a shadow OS that you have no visibility into.
>the OS is probably also backdoored to shit, unless you're maybe using a linux phone or a special de-botted android distro (Graphene, maybe?)
A lot of it just comes down to what your threat model is and what type of shit you're trying to do that would put you on the radar.
Cellular communication is by definition a tracking technology like >>523305977 said.
But you can still stay a few steps ahead of most LEOs and even the Feds if you're clever and motivated.

Remember, kids: crime pays, and is super cool.
