The dotcom bubble didn't wipe out the technology sector, but it did wipe out many companies that looked solid at the time and have either disappeared or become irrelevant. And it wasn't until years after the bubble that the surviving businesses and newcomers developed a profitable long-term business model. AI is here to stay, but we have no idea what a profitable AI business will be like 10 years from now. Chances are, it will be something entirely different from the chatGPT subscription model we see today.

Its better to keep the worker and let it use AI to improve the work. It doesn't lead directly to increased productivity. Because workers aren't really working harder by utilizing AI. Legal work is the most language based profession and yet AI sucks at replacing anyone at legal departments since AI typically starts hallucinating what the actual law states. Outside of LLMs there aren't many novel breakthroughs utilizing deep learning either. Not in the explainability department either.
