Finished reading this book and now i understand so much about the american polity and why it's course over the past few decades has gone as such, despite earlier seeming bizzare.

Any other books that explain a lot about the world?

This book is obligatory reading in foreign relations courses in Brazil. It is amazing how for decades they called it antissemitic and controversial, but now people can admit that the Israel lobby exists and has been the most powerful driving force of american policy since Eisenhower left office.

I don't even know how americans can even understand their country without reading it. Nothing would make sense.

The post 9/11 world was so different than today. Logically allying with israel for the "war on terror" made sense to the average person who didn't put much thought into geopolitics. Today we are in a position to reflect after so much time has passed
