So I was a NEET for along time in my 20’s. I had a few jobs as a teenager and early 20’s but mostly part time and wouldn’t last long. I started NEETing and had a girlfriend and we lived with my Mom. It was a very good life to be honest but something started to get at me like what’s put in the OP. When I turned 30 I told myself I need to get it together or end up in total misery. I got a job as an Amazon driver and worked 50 hours a week. It was pretty hard work but the pay with overtime was actually pretty decent. I pushed myself and while it was hard I actually had fun doing it. One day I delivered to a guys house and we started talking and he was an owner of an Electric Company and asked me if I would be interested in apprenticing. I took up his offer and started working as an Electrician. I’m now 40 and have 8 years experience and am a very proficient Electrician and make good money and have a job that is interesting to me and satisfying. I think I am one of the very lucky ones but I want to convey to all you it is possible to turn it around at 30. I think I waited till the last minute and if I procrastinated any longer none of it would have happened. TLDR version, even as 30 year old NEET it’s not too late. It’s gonna be a bit of an uphill battle but you can do it. You guys need to do it now and stop living in denial because it’s going to rear its ugly head. The chickens will eventually come home to roost.
