Why are the Phillippines third world? Weren't they aligned with us, having been under our rule for some time before then?

that's not how first second and third world worked, they've just changed in defintion. originally first world was aligned with US, second aligned with USSR, third unaligned. I though Austria was unaligned though so quite strange seeing them in first world.
