It's through Christ that circumcision became an obsolete tradition as there is no longer a material mark of the covenant. In Christianity the idea of being circumcised of the heart and mind, the cutting away of the flesh has taken on an entirely spiritual meaning. Reminder that Jews and Muslims still practice mutilation of the penis.
