It's kind of a trap since since seeds are often contaminated with poisonous plants that spread and cause problems once you start working them again.Many of the subsidies are but most farmers don't realy have a choice, we even have a government agency that can declare sections of your property "environmentally valuable" and if an inspector finds that you changed them too much or violated some of their guidelines they will fine you/reduce subsidies. Many are quiting because it's just not worth iit anymore and they are sick of constantly geting cucked by the state, currently there is even talk about incresing land tax to fix the state budget.
