Founder and leader of the volunteer football fan brigade "Espanyola" of the Russian Armed Forces, call sign "Spaniard." was murdered. He was "killed during arrest" along with his personal security guard.

Stanislav Orlov was 44 years old. In 2014, he first came to Donbas, where he joined the militia.

In 2015, he commanded a reconnaissance company in Horlivka. In 2022, he founded "Espanyola," which attracted hundreds of football fans from across the country. Espanyola is known for taking active part in Chasov Yar lengthy siege. They had high standards of physical prowess for their volunteers. Now, this brigade from from far-right football fans is officially dismantled.

There is no place for russian nationalists in Russia.

Another Prigozhin type situation?

It's dangerous to be russian nationalist leader of any sort in Russia under Putin, they have tendency of dying suddenly in dubious circumstances. Be it plane crash, murdered during robbery in their own cottage, jump out of window in the city center, with all security cams goin offline

It's worth noting that after the de facto liquidation of the Wagner PMC, Espanyola remained the only "politicized" military structure in the Russian Federation.

The brigade's core (like that of Wagner) was formed from proponents of far-right and neo-Nazi ideas. The brigade made no secret of its desire for political agency, promoting a nationalist agenda through its resources, and some of its representatives openly criticized Putin (although Espanyola later disavowed this criticism).

Perhaps the Kremlin, mindful of the consequences of the politicization of the former "they-are-not-there" members of the Wagner PMC, led by Prigozhin, whose mutiny nearly plunged Russia into turmoil similar to that of 1917, decided not to tempt fate any further and nip Espanyola's political activity in the bud.

First, Orlov was removed from command of the brigade. Then came news of the disbandment of "Hispaniola." And now "The Spaniard" himself, along with possibly several other unit commanders, has been killed.

It's also noteworthy that, although news of "The Spaniard"'s death surfaced several weeks ago, none of the major pro-war Z-publics reported on it. This is evidence of the Kremlin's significantly increased control over the information space compared to the period leading up to Prigozhin's rebellion.
