How has the advertising industry not gone extinct yet? Who the fuck is swayed by an ad to buy a product in current year instead of just being annoyed and skipping the ad, installing adblockers?
It's all intermingled with the content now. My girlfriend watches Instagram reels and it's often a woman talking about "this amazing dress" or whatever but there's an affiliate link in the description

I see so few ads now that when I actually have to sit through one I feel like I'm losing my mind. I went to a movie the other day and went in the cinema early enough to have to sit through the ads at the beginning, I felt like I was being fucking waterboarded, I started sweating and shit. Most ads are truly insane dogshit and the contempt they seem to have for the people they are targeting is mindblowing. Other than that if a billboard or bus ad hits me on a level above purely subconcious to the point where I actually notice it I will never purchase that product again.
