Russia is big enough to affect world events, so whatever thing they do it will either attract hostility or interest. The Chinese has a lot of interests to what Russia does, so does India. The US does somewhat, the only losers in this is the EU. The EU has no allies, because they're weak. Their gravitational pull is weak and power hates a vacuum.
