Ok, so when it comes to these sorts of narratives, you have to ask yourself whether it's accurate, or whether it's slave morality whining, naivete, delusion, or cope. Yes, there are corrupt leaders who intentionally keep people down. They probably rationalize that if they didn't then there would be more people knocking on their door, trying to unseat them. So they spread degeneracy, take concubines from the peasants, con people into doing drugs; smoke the drugs they deal, then blame them for that too. But this is not all kings. Some kings are good. Some politicians are Robin Hoods. They are hard to distinguish, because they need to blend in. They might do bad things today, because they have to. But in 20 years, they will flip a little switch that will make things improve for all. Enough switches are flipped, and we return to a golden age. Have faith in people, and in the government. We're all trying to do our best, even the government. Like Carlin said, the compromise begins immediately, in politics. The reason we in the First World get to sit around in offices is because the average person in our countries has a fair amount of education, much more than those in the 3rd world. I'm neither blue eyed nor blonde haired.
