They were never profitable to begin with. Those "news" sites wouldn't survive without money from so-called NGOs, which get their money from governments or Jewish billionaires.In the case of the cable shows, like John Oliver, they're owned by the same companies that make their money from the military industrial complex (so your taxes). The other sources of revenue that seem private, like the pharmaceuticals ads, they also make money because the insurance companies have gotten control of your health system and there's a massive welfare state (medicare, medicaid, etc) that is propping up those companies, again your taxes, you're paying (either through counterfeiting or direct taxes) just as much for these entitlement programs as you are for "defense". It's a pretty messed up thing to see on American cable news, where it's either advertising for processed slop that makes people sick or advertising the cures for said sickness making up most of the ads.USAID restructuring has meant that some of the outlets now have to tone down some of the "woke" elements in their unprofitable "news" outlets but that's ultimately because they were biting the hand that fed it. They need straight white guys to go die for Jews in bullshit wars and the MIC needs to get its cut. It was reigned in because they were shooting themselves in the foot with that propaganda.They still hate you and want your genetic line to end though.
