In mom's day, they had a "poor house". IT was a small farm owned by the county. You worked on the farm, you ate from the farm. Cows, crops, ect. You didn't work, you didn't eat, and you starved to death. Yeah... great depression. You guys whine that you can't live because of the price of McDonalds and you won't even make your own burgers.
