Baltic states or Poland are not entire Europe, barely its doormat, whose fate is absolutely irrelevant for States. Americans properly calculate that if all these buffer-countries spend 5-10% GDP on army, they would create similar blockade for Russia like Ukraine. Thats why there is no need for the US to fund and guarantee security of Europe. It should focus whats still left from its resources on its own Hemisphere. Venezuela is a hard nut to break, for example.
