The ONLY potential argument is that white light contains all colors of light including BLUE and blue light blunts melatonin production. Blue light is most common in nature at mid-day, when light is shining straight through the atmosphere and it tells your body to be awake. LEDs cannot do that. In fact the programmable RGB LEDs that most normalfags are familar with, and which you are probably thinking of, cannot emit yellow light at all. What they do is emit a mix of red and green light which APPEARS yellow to humans, but isn't actually yellow light at all. You might wonder what the difference is; the difference is this "yellow" light interacts with colored objects in completely different ways than true yellow light. The true sodium yellow light has MUCH WORSE color rendering.Even if you aren't thinking of RGB leds and are thinking of specialized leds that emit yellow light directly. Using colored phosphors won't work, the emission spectrum from those is too large and smooth. You would have to use direct-emission amber LEDs, made with a finely tuned semiconductor band gap, but even then the spectral emission of the LEDs would be much wider than a sodium lamp.

You can get warm colored leds. I don't get the led hate. More energy efficient and last way longer. I remember having to replace light bulbs all the time growing up. In the LED era its been years since I have touched a light bulb.
