The Russian far east is a tundra with little infrastructure and is inhabited by 8 million people, some of whom hate Russia.The problem isn't with conquering it, but holding it. It's a giant land mass that doesn't offer much outside of mineral resources and it's a shitty place to live. The only way to hold onto it is if everyone else recognizes it as being your land. You're not going to be able to hold it with an army.

It's clear to anyone that Siberia is an open belly for chinks. No one would even be "outraged' from them taking it. Russia never had the resources to hold it and it was just lucky China was in a disfunctional state.
