A transgender killer who murdered her parents told a judge she has converted to Islam behind bars as she was sentenced to 25 years to life in prison.Mia Bailey, 30, begged the judge to let her skip the hearing in a Utah court on Friday, voicing concerns that reliving details of her crimes could spark a mental breakdown.She was sentenced to two consecutive sentences of 25 years to life for murdering her parents, Joseph and Gail Bailey. Bailey also received up to five years for aggravated assault for shooting at her brother during the same incident. She was found 16 hours later following a widespread manhunt. Gail had been shot four times while Joseph had been shot twice in the head. Police said Bailey broke into their home ahead of the horrific slayings. Her brothers also provided statements to the court, indicating they feared for their lives.'What's best for us and what's best for Mia is probably staying in prison for as long as possible,' Corey Bailey told the judge.'We've lost our parents, and we've lost a sibling in many ways as well.
