Rewatching movies you've already seen in a language that you're learning is probably better than diving head first into movies where you don't know what is happening.I wouldn't recommend native German content to a beginner, not because it's bad because there is good stuff out there but because it can be kind of far removed from regular German. I don't quite know how to describe it but it's very different from spoken German. So I'd recommend books translated into German because they have simpler German, there's also a shit ton of audio books in German so you could look for shit by Jules Verne which shouldn't be too hard to find in pdf form and it's probably also available as an audiobook on YouTube.
