I don't understand the enthusiasm for high density urbanism online. I live in an apartment building now. The noise and the reduced privacy fucking sucks. I want to move back to a single family house but I can't afford it.

While I would give anything to live on a small farm, apartments are not an inherently bad idea. Apartments which are spacious, well-insulated and maintained transparently are perfectly fine places of live in. Unfortunately, rarely if ever such apartments exist outside of luxury condos.
