Anyone here skipping Xmas with your family? I didn't feel like flying out this year, not to mention I'm the single no kid uncle just hanging around. This year I just want to chill and enjoy my time off.

Christmas hype begins in October. Way too much saturation for one single day. Go see your family on a Tuesday in May. Make a feast on a Monday and tell all the old family funny stories. All this mania for one day, a day that should be quiet gratitude and reflection, is ridiculous. Pile up in Nona's hot ass house so you can laugh and eat. But do spend that precious time some time because as it goes on there will be fewer and fewer in the family picture. But it doesn't have to be Christmas.
