There weren't any public drinking fountains because all water needed to be boiled.Also, some days the smog was so bad I could taste it in my mouth when I woke up in the morning. Whole day smelled like burning soot. Could only see a block or 2 down the road then just a grey/white wall of fog.Maybe it's changed since then, but overall, everything seemed dirty and run down for being a capital city.

The city life is amazing, the women were always happy to talk with me.I went on guided tours of each major area of where I visited, and each new place was better than the last!Clean streets, people living their lives, cool technology. I've been there, it's just a place. Most people are on the mainland are pretty poor, the manufacturing plants really do have nets up to stop workers from killing themselves, the polution is pretty bad. HK looks super shiny until you get somewhere away from the downtown and start to see the massive run down looking apartment complexes.
