This actually happens sometimes.

The laws that allow for it are still in place right now.

Yeah, that's how the electoral college works. It's to prevent poors from accidentally picking the wrong guy.
>>
>>524150219
We should have a bunch of candidates instead like 20+ all different political factions or parties and then pick the average of what people voted

Gore got over half a million more votes than Bush.

Clinton got almost 3 million more votes than Trump.

American democracy is a sham, and yes, I am in fact seething and coping over this.

Yeah anon. The electoral college is not a secret. You can read about why they did it in the Federalist Papers

>American democracy is a sham
The United States of America is a Republic, anon, not a democracy.

>Representative democracy

Oof, you couldn't have seen that one coming....
>>

Yep, anon. Strictly speaking, the USA is considered a "democratic republic." The people pick representatives by majority vote (that's the "democracy" part). Those representatives then vote on the people's behalf to enact laws and systems, e.g., the electoral college (that's the "republic" part). And the best part is this is all done public and extensively documented in no less than 50 states, so you can read all about it instead of reading wiki and shitposting on the chinz

Learning is fun!
