The truth is nobody wanted to be infested with niggers. The southern democrats wanted to spread slavery to new states because getting land basically free wasn’t good enough for their lazy asses. The republicans did oppose slavery due to their christcuckery but also knew slavery spreading west would infest the country with niggers. Both sides lost the civil war in a way.
