for like 20 years now there have been new improved batteries one after another, usually solid state in some form, all promised to enter the market within a couple years. sometimes you even hear they already built the factory or big investment from toyota or its been deployed in city busses but then, years pass, and nothing, and you never hear from them again. i won't get my hopes up until i can actually buy one for my ebike and get twice the range and fast charging, with no risk of exploding, which would be sweet. i could go anywhere then.anyways what makes this samsung silver battery such a sure thing that it drove up the price of silver? and will the new batteries even be affordable after all the silver was bought up by greedy speculators crippling the rollout of what could have been a very beneficial technology? lithium may be expensive but at least you can't stack it in a bank vault or melt it for JEWelry
