The question I had was how is it even possible? It's understandable with produce because its harvested straight from the soil. But isn't frozen slop food made of ingredients so processed that it's sterilized several times over? I don't get how this could happen. Even if you assume there was some guy with poop on his hands in a factory, these things don't require the food to be touched until it's fully packaged. Where did the poo bacteria come from?

There was much more variety, too with tons of different restaurants around. But I think it's less singificant now. The markets are globalized so things in one big city shouldn't be that different from another. Plus Vancouver is unaffordable so restaurants are cutting quality. Maybe Saskatoon will always be worse, Toronto always mid, and Vancouver always with an advantage due to being on the Pacific. But it's much less noticeable of a difference now. I'm sure I could fly into Calgary or Saskatoon and find decent quality and priced sushi/ramen/etc. Maybe it won't be the best elitist shit ever but it will still be pretty good.
