Yes, the mentally ill and the retarded and the badly autistic and the disabled and the dying should be euthanized at the request of their families.
Family rights are sacred and the freedom of families to "put down" suffering members must be recognized in our quest to become freer and freer, as humanity has always striven toward greater freedom -- it is the arc and story of history.

The West needs to get past the Christian heritage that says "all humans are God's special creations (snowflakes)" and therefore all humans, no matter how defective, have the right to life.
Christianity has always done nothing but hold the West back. It sank us into a thousand years of stagnation from circa 500 to 1500, or more like 400 to 1400, until Classical, Greco-Roman Pagan values of being strong and positive, and reviling the weak and worthless (see Calvinism), returned to Europe in the Renaissance and the Protestant Revolution and the West began making rapid progress again.
If your own family decides death is best for you, who are you to argue it isn't? In traditional cultures in Africa, for example, if your mom rejects you, the society rejects you on the basis you must be a bad seed. When your family says it is time for you to go, then simple as -- it is time for you to go.
