Why don't people go to Las Vegas anymore?
>>
>>524199099
Because zoomers and millennials know gambling is retarded
>>
if you want to gamble, you can do that on your phone. and if you want a casino, there is probably an indian reservation that has one not too far from where you live
if all you want to do was to blow money on booze and hookers, you don't need to travel 2000 miles across the country
>>
>>524199099
Checked, and probably because there are too many uncontrolled cameras now (smart devices).

Vegas used to be a THE place to go for gambling.
Now every state got rid of half their gambling laws and casinos aren’t that hard to find. Also you can just do all that shit on your phone.
Vegas’s response was to increase prices instead of lowering them.
>>
>>524199099
Can't do drugs.
Can't fuck shit up.
Nothing is cheap anymore.
Prostitution illegal.
All of the shows are $100+ now.
>>
>>524199099
Why would you go?
>>
>>524199099
just came back from vegas
because it's overpriced dog shit owned by people who don't even live in this country. Every airbnb in vegas is owned by some foreign fuck
>>
>>524199824
I particularly wouldn't since I only gamble on horse races. Vegas to a bong has always been the mecca of the degenerate. A play palace for the morally bankrupt and deprived. A sodom of Gomorrah hellscape draped in fluorescent lights and cheap prefab 20th century architecture. I am just musing why now even Americans are not flocking there. The city's tourism numbers have been down since pre-Covid.
>>
>>524199099
you can gamble on your phone now
>>
>>524199099
The casinos squeezed everyone dry, no one has money to gamble anyway, and the whole town is flooded in nigs.

>its just gambling
Nope.

People went to Las Vegas for the gambling but stayed for the entertainment. The latter used to be either moderately priced or dirt cheap. The Excalibur had this really cool live show right on the street where Merlin would do battle with a dragon. It was corny but fun. It ran through the 90’s, a ding around 2001. The Mirage had their volcano show which ended when they closed. The Bellagio is the only free one left, with their water fountain show.

Comedy and musical acts in Vegas used to be crazy cheap. There were tons of independent, smaller clubs. Tickets were around $20, maybe $30. Those days are gone. The small clubs have mostly been bought out, and every act is a huge venue of 2,000+ seats and costs $150 minimum.

Hotels as well have gone up. And it’s pretty drastic, with prices close to double even when you adjust for inflation. That used to be one of the cheapest things about Vegas, and how they’d wheel people in. The actual trip to the casino was cheap on paper because it’s just a hotel and maybe some restaurants. They would “get you” when you started really hitting the casino.

Corporations moved in and bra counters figured out how to squeeze more profits. Now if anyone is going they’re already dropping a lot of their budget on the room and maybe a big concert. They might play some slot machines. So what do the casinos do? Squeeze a little more from the rooms and decrease the odds on slots and video poker. They’ve done that for two decades and now no one is interested because it’s not a fun, affordable trip.

Next topic: why theme parks are failing (preview: it’s niggers)

Just to be clear, everything about Vegas has outpaced inflation; the hotels, the restaurants, and the entertainment. At the same time, they’ve changed a lot of the gambling rules and payouts (smaller odds on machines, lower payout on table games, more decks in blackjack, etc.). Even someone who’s just vaguely familiar with gambling can see how quickly their money drains away. It’s why younger generations aren’t interested in gambling in a casino; the insanely unfair house advantage becomes obvious after an hour or two.

They’ve also switched to a lot of poker tournaments rather than blackjack and roulette. The later two are very strict odds based, where players are playing against the casino. In poker, you’re playing against other people. The casino literally can’t lose.

Most of the strip is owned by New York ((Black Rock, Black Stone)). And it shows in the changes there. I'll keep my gambling local.

evidently not

it's a shithole, i never understood why europeans visisted vegas or los angeles on holiday. i understand the europeans that come over here to rent cars and take roadtrips across the country, that makes more sense to me.

I went to Vegas once to look at the big dam

I went to vegas for the first time a few months ago, Made a few hundred bucks on blackjack and slots, saw a few shows (copperfield, the medieval times jousting thing, and some topless burlesque thing), overall had a lot of fun and plan to go again at some point. It's good for a "long weekend" trip id say if you want something more exotic for a getaway than all the day's drive distance places you've been to dozens of times

I dont get all the doomposting, but may e that's just because i was never there during the "glory days" to have context of things having gotten worse; but in a pure vacuum, vegas as is, was a lot of fun, for me anyways, and frankly i found it to be fairly affordable compared to the other places i go for a "long weekend" (maine, nh or manhattan) without getting on a plane

People can buy stocks faster than ordering a pizza .

I too had a lot of fun to the point I want to go back next year. Sure if you're a dumb normie who only thinks the strip is worth visiting you'll get nickel and dimed but there's so much more to do there if you look, gambling is just the tip of the iceberg. Great people too if i'm being honest. Apart from the junkies that lost it all I felt very welcome there.

Yeah i think if your expectations are reasonable (e.g. not expecting it to be exactly the same as it was when you first went 50 years ago or whatever), it absolutely meets expectations. I also like gambling... in casinos. I dont do scratchers or sportsbooks, if im at a fuckin casino, ill gamble, a lot (not money-wise, time-wise on extremely low stakes games for hours (50cent slots and 5$ blackjack)
>>
>>524199099
Americans have hoovered up all the spare cash in the world.
>>
>>524199099
Gambling is legal everywhere now. Why fly to the other side of the country to go to a casino in Vegas when you can drive 20 minutes to your local casino?
>>
>>524208077
Kek yea fuckin yanks
>>
>>524199099
only retards gamble. just because 0.1 percent of dudes are good at it, that doesn't mean that you all are.
>>
>>524199099
You can bet online now, nigger.
>>
>>524199099
Because living every day in America is gambling and everything is a slot machine now so no need to travel across the US to waste even more time and money you don’t have anyway
>>
>>524199099
I can get kiked right here at home. Its much quicker and more convenient to get it over with now - without the travel.

Vegas under the mafia:
>cheap hotels, cheap flights
>cheap buffets with high quality
>free attractions and shows
>big production shows have reasonable cost
>plenty of hooking under the table
>can drive out to get legal hooking

Vegas under globohomo:
>expensive hotel with hidden fees
>flights now have fees out the ass
>expensive food, fuck your buffet
>no free attractions anymore
>fuck you pay me attitude
>only Chad can hook now
>gambling is shit compared to Gatcha games
>no more "physical" machines, it's all touch screen lowest effort garbage shit.

Basically Vegas enshitified itself and didn't survive the arrival of Gatcha games from Asia where everyone can collect hot anime waifus/husbandos while gambling real money away via fake currencies that work just like chips do. Which, by the way, has a FUCKTON of animated porn for all the characters. So not only can you collect these waifu/husbando types, there is plenty of porn for you to fap to for any hoyoverse character (they actively give models away for animators to make mmds and porn vids for!). If you haven't kept up, that means Gatcha is literally:
>free entry and entertainment
>free porn and dancing ladies
>can gamble real money to increase your odds
>no niggers, spics, or degenerates nearby
>safe in home, no one can record your ass

That makes it HIGHLY desirable to zoomers who live on their phones and ipads. MMDs are literally equivalent to the old school burlesque shows & strip clubs, and there is plenty of porn to go with it.

They're too broke to travel is the main thing. Young people can't afford cars, plane tickets, gas money, etc. What they can afford is to throw the occasional $20 on some treat or an online gambling website.
