Why do physicists, biologists, and mathematicians trust the science to make progress and, "get things done", but they always attack their young men and military forces defending their nation's interests and resources which make it possible to carry on in leisure pursuits like science? If science is true, then we're going to collapse into the sun and eventually the whole universe dies in a heat death or a big crunch, so building a knowledge base is an act of vanity.

The development of artificial wombs is a total non-factor.The day AIs and robots manage to definitively surpass real women in companionship, sex, house chores and child rearing, there will literally be no reason at all why every man on Earth wouldn't band together to strip women of every right and lock them in breeding farms forever. Or rather, until the women reach age 30, at which point they will be unceremoniously disposed of and replaced with younger women.
