I read 1-4 Maccabees for the first time and I got to say I noticed somethings I don't think others have discussed here in depth before. Now I have heard claims that there are hidden instructions to infiltrate and destroy foreigners. I did not see it. But what I have found first and foremost is that Jews can't FUCKING STOP digging deeper into a hole! 2 Maccabees 8:20 suggests that Jews assisted Alexander the Great with his invasions!>and the time of the battle against the Galatians that took place in Babylonia, when eight thousand Jews fought along with four thousand Macedonians; yet when the Macedonians were hard pressed, the eight thousand, by the help that came to them from heaven, destroyed one hundred twenty thousand Galatians and took a great amount of plunder.Macedonians! They assisted Macedonians in Babylon! Who ruled over Babylon at the time? The Persians who helped them build their 2nd temple! Well how the fuck did that work out huh?! 200 years of occupation and their temple plundered by temple happy raiding King Antiochus IV. So they ally with Romans for their rebellion. Little do the authors of 1 and 2 Maccabees know that they are getting played in a divide and conquer scheme. Seriously 1 Maccabees is Jews and Greeks stabbing each other in the back. Jews stabbing Jews in the back. Greeks stabbing Greeks in the back. Jews and Arabs stabbing each other in the back. And Jews fellatioing Romans for an alliance against the Seleucids. Well that worked out well into the future didn't it? Just like they were fellatioing Muslims in the west until recently.
Now is something I was not expecting at all! 3 Maccabees is overtly the original Holocaust story. Set in Ptolemaic Egypt in 200 BC but with an historically inaccurate spectacle in the Hippodrome that dates it to the Roman period. Call it the Hippodromecaust if you will.Egyptian Jews are rounded up to at first be taxed then sent to forced labor before finally being sent to the Hippodrome to be exterminated. But instead of gas chambers they are to be crushed to death by drunk elephants. I am not making this up! The moral of 3 Maccabees is to fake a tragedy and survivor stories to gain sympathy. Use that sympathy to get special privileges from leaders. It works on Greeks but not on Egyptians. They literally get the king to change his mind after 3 failed attempts at getting elephants to stomp on Jews. At the end they are granted their Torah law courts completely unsupervised by the king to police Jews all the way up to imposing executions. They immediately use it to execute 350 apostate Jews who helped the government round people up.And here is where it gets interesting if you read historical contextual study guide notes. In Harper Collins this is what it says about 3 Maccabees 4:14>The entire race was to be registered individually, presumably so that no one would escape, but the process seems to be laborious. Again this may point to an original story concerned with registration rather than annihilation.Harper Collins is a Hippodromecaust denier!
>>524257214>they were just registration camps! would a death camp have a hippodrome?
The prophets sent to the jews were all tired of their people.Niggers made talmud just to not do whats their prophet asked them.
>>524256887Yeah, Alexandrian romances "ie. Made up stories about Alexander" were quite the rage in the past. Given one happened a several hundred years before the other decided to record it, it's quite likely they were following the contemporary tradition.
>>524257796alexander made no gates of iron, Moses peace be upon him did that
I have posted this thread before but it didn't get many replies. But someone did say, >1 Maccabees 12:21 says that Greeks (Whites) are descendants of Abraham. No wonder the Jews removed it from their Biblical canon. While this is true it is written. I believe it was Johnathan bullshiting the Spartans when he was trying to appeal to them through diplomacy. Not a fact. It didn't work on Greeks but it worked on Arabs 800 years later. Lets face it Judas Maccabeus and Johnathan sucked at diplomacy especially with Greeks and Romans. Simon and John Hyrcanus were much better at it and had an easier time getting the high priests of Jerusalem to support them. Greeks and Arabs were less backstabby to Jews under their rule. Simon still got killed by King Demetrius though. Can't win them all. Especially with that awful prick.
>>524257538And why would the Ptolemies hold a spectacle like Romans before it was really popular? Let alone use drunk elephants instead of drunk horses or drunk hippopotamuses. It is called the Hippodrome not the Elephatndrome! 500 elephants? Come on Philopator only had 73 war elephants at most. They were already trained to trample on people sober. Why get them drunk and also mix in frankincense into the wine?
>>524257561This is in the Bible. There are historical books within it. Some are known to be historical fiction like Maccabees 3 and Esther. Admitted by both Jewish rabbis and Christian priests. Samaritans who only accept the first 5 books of the Torah don't consider the book of Joshua to be a religious book at all. Jews rejected Maccabees altogether because they say it wasn't religious enough. Really it is because the high priest told the Maccabean leaders that the Hasmonean Kingdom was to be a placeholder until the Messiah arrived. Jesus was born a few years after King Herod killed John Hyracanus' great grandaugher and their sons. This is why he freaked out when the 3 wise men told Herod that the Messiah was born because of the stars in the sky in the New Testament.Talmud was not written until after Christianity. But Mohammed quotes it more often than he does the Bible. He really couldn't tell them apart until his Medinan years.
>>524256887HOW DARE GOD SAY THAT ABOUT US JEWS! DAMN SON! IF I EVER WANTED TO SMACK A HOE RIGHT NOW!
>>524259891Jeramiah was the Bobby Fletcher of his time. Frustrated to hell with his own people's pigheadedness. Go read secular history when he was alive. King Zedekiah was trying to play off the Babylonians and Egyptians. The Babylonians found out at the same time the old Pharaoh who liked him died. His son did not like him and had his own problems to deal with caused by Greek mercenaries his father hired. Post Alexander was not the first time Greeks fucked Jews up. Albeit unintentionally in this case.
>>524257796Jews have a long history of opening gates for invaders. You can be nice to them and they still might do it for some minor slight. Esther story told on Purim fucked with their heads. They had to force themselves to hate Persians after Cyrus and Darius helped them out. That is why it is so North Koreanesque.
>>524257214There were hippodromes in Egypt before the Roman inheritance of Egypt. The Lageion for example
>>524262022A hippodrome is a horseracing stadium. Hippo means horse in Greek. Hippopotamus means "river horse". People loved ancient nascar and Olympic games before Romans took their horrifying squid games spectacles out of elites' basements and into the public. In the 200's BC Romans did not rule over Egypt and still only did it when someone important died. It was just a few dudes with swords duking it out under a religious veneer. Not having slaves fight or slaughtered by animals for purely for entertainment yet.
What is interesting is that 3 Maccabees is only in Orthodox Bibles. They removed Protestant Apocrypha books that sometimes included this in the 1850s. And they put most of the Orthodox world under the iron curtain of communism while they were doing their Holocaust propaganda.
I just remembered that Idumeans are Edomites. The historical noted said it but I put it in the back of my mind as I was focusing on how much and why Jews hate Greeks and their interactions with Arabs/Nabataeans. I should have paid more attenion to Idumeans.

>>524264667Found this in Wikipedia.>During the revolt of the Maccabees against the Seleucid kingdom (early 2nd century BC), II Maccabees refers to a Seleucid general named Gorgias as "Governor of Idumaea"; whether he was a Greek or a Hellenized Idumean is unknown. Some scholars maintain that the reference to Idumaea in that passage is an error altogether.>According to Josephus, the Judeans under Judas Maccabeus first defeated the Idumaeans in the two Idumaean border towns of Hebron and Marisa and plundered them around 163 BC.[60] About 50 years later, Judeans under John Hyrcanus I again attacked Marisa and the nearby Adoraim: according to Josephus[61] and Ammonius Grammaticus,[62] Hyrcanus conquered the cities of Marisa and Adoraim, forcibly converted all Idumaeans to Judaism and incorporated them into the Jewish nation:[63][42]Yep I though that guy was a either a Hellenized native or a Greek placed in charge of them. Edomites ended up assimilated by the Jews instead. Some Jews were also being assimilated by Greeks under the Seleucids. This is what modern Jews are confused about. Now I got to look for the Bible passage.

>>524258112Keep posting it, it's far more interesting than most slop posted here. Dont have a lot to add because I'm not a biblical scholar but enjoyed reading this.
Judas Maccabeus has long been exalted, but who is we wuzzin' who?:>https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Nine_Worthies
>>524267166It is 2 Maccabees 10:14 that Jews have such a geocidal hatred for Greeks is all about. Someone who may or may not have been Greek was leading an army of Edomites against the Jews. I wasn't paying that close attention to who the enemy commanders were in the war either. Gorgias kind of sucks at fighting. Really a bungling villainous henchman who screws up. St. George slaying the dragon is antisemitic!
>>524267166My mistake it was his son-in-law Ptolemy Abubus having a shit fit about the Roman alliance who killed Simon and tried to coup the throne. He wanted to be in a alliance with the remaining Seleucids who were less hostile to Jews after the war. Talk about being stuck between a rock and a hard place.
>Antipater the Idumaean, the progenitor of the Herodian dynasty along with Judean progenitors that ruled Judea after the Roman conquest, was of Idumean origin. Under Herod the Great, the Idumaea province was ruled for him by a series of governors, among whom were his brother Joseph ben Antipater and his brother-in-law Costobarus. Herod's daughter is the one who got away from being killed and married the next puppet king. His wife Mariamne was the last Hasmonian descendant without Edomite blood.

>By 66 CE, during the First Jewish–Roman War, the Zealot leader Simon bar Giora attacked the Jewish converts of Upper Idumaea and brought near complete destruction to the surrounding villages and countryside in that region. It was part of his wider plan to attack Jerusalem and seize authority for himself. According to Josephus, during the siege of Jerusalem in 70 CE by Titus, 20,000 Idumaeans, under the leadership of John, Simon, Phinehas, and Jacob, joined the Zealots as they besieged the Temple. Idumean zealotry arguably reflected their attempts to 'prove' their Jewishness. After the Jewish–Roman wars, the Idumaean people disappear from written history, though the geographical region of "Idumea" is still referred to at the time of Jerome.>Josephus, when referring to Upper Idumaea, speaks of towns and villages immediately to the south and south-west of Jerusalem, the latter being a principal city of Idumaea after the influx of Idumaeans into the Hebron Hills, shortly after the demise of the kingdom of Judah and the Judean exile in the 6th-century BC. Strabo describes western Judea as being populated by Idumeans, who commingled with Judeans and adopted their customs.>Archaeological records gleaned from Maresha, though largely of Idumaean origin, attest to the region being under the influences of Hellenistic culture, as well as that of Nabatean/Arab, Phoenician, Palmyrene and Jewish culture. The Gospel of Mark states that the Idumeans joined Judeans, Jerusalemites, Tyrians, Sidonians and east Jordanians in meeting Jesus by the Sea of Galilee. The Mishnah refers to Rabbi Ishmael's dwelling place in Kfar Aziz as being "near to Edom"
>>524270213Figures the Egyptian setting for 3 Maccabees. They only kill other Jews in this story fortunately. Elephants kill the elephant handlers climb out of the ring of the Hippodrome and kill or injure some spectators instead of Jews on the 3rd attempt if you take the story at face value..
>The nature of Edomite religion is largely unknown before their conversion to Judaism by the Hasmoneans. Epigraphical evidence suggests that the national god of Edom was Qaus (קוס) (also known as 'Qaush', 'Kaush', 'Kaus', 'Kos' or 'Qaws'), since Qaus is invoked in the blessing formula in letters and appear in personal names found in ancient Edom. As close relatives of other Levantine Semites and Arabs, they seem to have worshiped such gods as El, Baal and 'Uzza. In some Jewish traditions stemming from the Talmud, the descendants of Esau are the Romans (and to a larger extent, all Europeans).>Juan Manuel Tebes argues that Qaus is a similar god to Yahweh. Qaus seems to have descended from a cultural heritage common between Edomites and Jews, with the worship of both the Edomite Qaus and the God of the Israelites being described by Egyptians. Qaus's popularity during the Persian and Hellenistic periods appears, according to Tebes, to have forced the purportedly pro-Yahwist authors of the Book of Chronicles to portray several Edomite persons as 'pious Levites'. Clues about their Edomite heritage appear to be hidden in their theophoric names.>Josephus states that Costobarus was descended from the priests of "the Koze, whom the Idumeans had formerly served as a god". Victor Sasson describes an Edomite text that parallels the Book of Job, which provides insight on the language, literature, and religion of Edom.Job was plagiarized.

It seems Idumaeans were fully assimilated as Jews when the 2nd temple was destroyed. Jesus did not need to destroy them because the assimilation process was almost finished. Just warn people to stay the hell out of Jerusalem when the temple was going to be destroyed. Spartans might have refused the Esau gambit Johnathan was pulling on them.
