Every time the wind blows or a squirrel farts, my power goes out for 24-36 hours. The energy infrastructure in the USA is so critically terrible that if I ever had an electric car I would frequently find myself stranded and unable to charge it. Maybe if my state builds a 4th or 5th gen nuclear power plant and puts some underground power cables that wont be destroyed every time a little wind comes through, then maybe an electric vehicle will become viable. Tell the power company to stop fucking around and fix the infrastructure in the USA or electric cars will never be viable.

the faster you charge a battery the more you degrade the battery. the more innovation you try to put into batteries the more they cost.
the entire thing is a scam intended to keep you from pushing for combustion engines powered by hydrolyzed hydrogen.

Nobody wants electric powered items when the retards cant even maintain the power infrastructure. In order for me to buy an EV, you would need to remove all the screens, all systems capable of some manner of external connection, replace the drivetrain with a real drivetrain featuring an engine, transmission, and differential, and then make it RWD and cost under $15k.

Agreed. The current 'life as a service' model can't sustain itself. No one wants commercials on their refrigerators, or features already paid for on cars which won't run unless you have a monthly subscription.

Something simple and road legal will dominate the market. A street legal electric gulf cart would have more sales than a $140k electric Cadillac.

the person in your image is not wrong. It becomes a death spiral. In order to be 'living', the price of all goods (including the ice cream) would have to be high enough to pay for the lowest performing worker.

Most of the major advances in capitalism came from free labor. From the machine shop owner who works 100 hours per week building their business, for the various garage tech giants who tinkered on their time off before it ever paid them a penny

1-No infotainment, tracking, or other similar nonsense.
2- Use end user serviceable components like a Parker / Curtis motor controller, and other COTS components and cabling.
3- Be functional. Outside of using (an) electric motor(s) to provide the motive force, all other components should be readily available automotive components. No proprietary bullshit.
4- Possess onboard charge capability. Either by plugging it onto a common 110V15A receptacle, or via an optional onboard solar or fueled generator. (Don't care if it's diesel, propane, recip or a turboshaft. Give it an option for an APU.)
5- Not use components/ mechanical parts made of mystery meat in China or India, unless said product goes through very rigorous QC inspection prior to delivery for assembly.

A very specific living situation.
>Own a house

The 3rd car can be electric, used electric. I did own an electric vehicle already and have sold it. It was one of these scooters zoomers ride, when I lived in a bigger city I've used it for commuting, it was fine because I could just fold it and bring it into the office to charge it and then back to my apartment.

All that being said I own one car and I use the polish magic of tanking it with LPG so the economy gains from it being electric are minimal.

The point he's making is that most of these chargers aren't even on the grid in a lot of places because a lot of grids just can't handle the kind of power draw going on with EV chargers, something like 30 to 40% of them are entirely powered by their own diesel generators onsite, or supplemented by diesel generators onsite.

Like that other anon said, the problem with an ebike(I ride one to work) is it becomes a liability once you have to be responsible for more people than yourself.

- At least,700 km range in a normal sized hatchback.
-Higher material quality for mid-spec interiors. Right now it feels like paying an arm and a leg for something that feels driving a plastic toy car. due to price offsetting from high cost batteries.

Because of this I bought picrel, instead of gimped entry level EV that costs more.

ICE drive trains are nigger-tier hack upon nigger-tier hack to (barely) get force to smoothly transfer from a nigger-tier 19th century piece of tech to the wheels.

he is correct if you consider that your wage is just a proxy for the goods you produced.
if the goods you produced weren't really worth anything, then why should someone exchange them for useful things?
if you spend 8 hours folding paper planes per day, do you think a farmer will want to give you food for them just because you spent a lot of time folding them? will the bricklayer be willing to build a house for you to live in in exchange for paper planes?
all the people who provide you with the stuff you need to live will want something of equal value in return. if you do not produce anything of value, then the proxy (money) you got for it also has no value.
introducing a minimum wage is the first step to killing your fiat currency, because now it's not even backed by labor, it's backed by nothing.

Hahahaa
>EVs now fill up roughly as fast as gas
But the millions and millions of EVs made up to this point did NOT get that magical update. They still take 2 hours to fill. And people have only gotten poorer, not wealthier, so they cannot afford to sell their EVs for a $30k loss to buy the new EVs that charge "roughly" as fast as a gas tank. They're stuck with the old models, screwed.

Nothing. I never will.
Death to kikes.

In 10 years chinese technology will be so advanced that it'll be literally beyond the amerimutt comprehension.
They'll have robots roaming the streets, a fully integrated drone economy and nuclear power plants on the moon while americans will be living in their technofeunadilistic totalitarian dystopia, living in cardboard boxes telling themselves those things are all AI generated.

I’m never getting into a 2 ton metal box that’s one low end collision away from turning into a chemical inferno. You can’t store useful amounts of energy via electrochemical reactions without introducing huge dangers from simple punctures.

They would need to solve the issue of lithium batteries degrading and losing charge capacity over time.

I can deal with a phone battery getting worse after a few years. But not on a $50k+ car, no way fag

The way it works ideally is not the way it works in reality. I've looked into this and seen enough.

>charge it at work
>50 employees are all competing for the 1-3 charging stations
>all it takes is one retarded woman to break the cable off and render the charging station unusable until the company can get an electrician out there to repair it (literally a bi-monthly occurrence)

>charge at home
>costs thousands of dollars for the electrician to install the EV charging outlet, even just the cable is very costly per foot
>most people skip this, hoping to just use the stations available in town
>most people don't even own a home, but rent
>landlord might decline to install a charging station
>apartment complex might decline to install a charging station
>apartment complex might have a charging station but not enough for everyone, and somebody will inevitably break it

This is how it actually is. A nightmare.

the contempt people have for service or retail workers is indefensible
when you factor in the amount of stress involved in those jobs
most people couldn't even handle the stress
and people unironically larp that its "not a real job"
while they have some grift on gibs or some shit
its twilight zone shit

never ever. No country has the infrastructure to support mass EV adoption.
Hybrids and synth fuels are the way.

The guarantee is for the maintenance free period. If and when something does go it costs maybe 2 grand to keep it going for another decade or two. Whats the replacement cost of batteries again?

I live in a rented apartment because a cheap house here is a million dollars and surrounded by brown neighbours, and the only places that offer free charging at work are government departments (karens lording over browns).

Ill stick with my petrol car for now thanks.

We have charging here in rental places too. Not all that difficult to get one desu. I don't charge at work either but I know lots of people who do that.

Probably better than you, I'm also whiter than thou, which is why I understand home charging.

If u want to understand how much of a ripoff new cars are for whitey : Volkswagen ID4 starts at €46,335 in Germany. Same car is 139,900 yuan or €16,905 China. Same fucking car, rolls off the same assembly line. Its 300% more here. And that is a European company.

Car manufacturers are in a price war in the developing world, especially China to gain market share, they sell at a loss in the developing world. Manufacturers fund this by doubling and tripling the price where for whitey. Europe, the US, canada, australia, it doesn't matter, you're overpaying by as much as 65% to subsidize chinks getting their cars almost for free.

Yeah well we dont, and we cover vast distances. Only city bound cucks who never leave the outskirts think electric is great, everyone else buys a normal car for a multitude of reasons.
