On this Christmas Eve, we should take a moment to remember the Holly (aka the Holocaust). I created a short story about it so we’ll never forget the atrocities that occurred during that terrible time.>In the 1940s, the land shuddered under the horror of the Holly. Families vanished, villages emptied, and fear hung thick in the air. Mr. Finklestein, once a quiet scholar, could no longer hide behind his books. He packed his satchel with notepads and pens and set out to witness the truth, hoping to find his own family among the ruins. "Me mum, me da, please let me find you," he whispered as he walked. "Me mum, me da, I will not leave you behind.">When he arrived at the camps, the stench and despair nearly overwhelmed him. Barracks were crowded, lampshades hung crookedly from broken ceilings, bars of soap piled up in the corners, and shoes lay scattered on the floor. Then he spotted them, me mum and me da, weary but alive. "Me mum! Me da!" he cried, rushing forward. "Me mum, me da, I thought I’d lost you forever. Me mum, me da, hold on.">The camps were merciless, and Mr. Finklestein could not look away. He scribbled notes furiously but kept returning to them. "Me mum, me da, how did you survive this? Me mum, me da, stay strong. Me mum, me da, we must survive together. Me mum, me da, I will protect you.">By the time the Holly ended and the camps were liberated, Mr. Finklestein’s satchel was full of notes. "Me mum, me da, we survived. Me mum, me da, we remember those who could not. Me mum, me da, we will never forget.">Even amid tragedy, hope persisted. Through his writings and the survival of me mum and me da, Mr. Finklestein ensured that the horror of the Holly would not be lost to time. "Me mum, me da, we endured," he whispered, and the world listened.
