Eventually after many weeks / months / years many other people will start doing this work for you, and will just passively mention it in conversations or bring it up, and famous people who don't do their own research will just parrot the popular narrative, and then the company is worse-off than if you never started a hate campaign in the first place. You probably see this all the time scrolling tiktok or twitter. One viral video of maggots in a chocolate candy = lost sales. Then people on forums parrot it. Parents stop buying that candy in fear of it, and so on. It's easier with game companies cause gamers are just angry all the time about everything so they're willing to share in the hate, where as it might take more effort to get some middle aged normie Karen upset about which toilet paper she buys for her family.
