lolno. Some parts are objectively great like compositing new words from combining simple words and a lack of gendered nonsense.
English phonetics are extremely retarded though, spelling being a skill is a testament to this. Spelling being self evident in many other languages (because why the fuck wouldn't it be, writing being a pictographic representation of sound).
I love it but it's in no way the easiest or simplest.

Movies, media dominance. Now it's established itself as common tongue

Two reasons

1. Brits conquered and colonized a ton of places. They brought their language, units of measurement, and shit with them and the people adopted those features because Brits were doing the equivalent of bringing alien sci-fi advancements that the populations wanted to understand.

2. This one is hilarious. The USA was at the forefront for digital technology after WWII because we didn't get blasted to shit and a lot of new coding and computing concepts were being utilized. The way to generate characters on a computer using the English alphabet that didn't have a bunch of whacky characters or hundreds of different Kanji and shit, made it the default language that the world learned to code with. So, in order to advance from a technological standpoint, English became a must have.

Is bizarre, most burgers probably don't even realize that all their movies, music, etc. were sell worldwide for decades and decades, including games.
National productions of any type besides music couldn't compete with burgers on terms of production, know-how and pure money being dump into it.
Only Japan could compete with anime and tokusatsu. They took the economic approach and pay off, at least in the 90's and forward.
And then some of them don't understand how there's so many shitskins being drop ship into them, sure not all of them were attract by their global-level media, but more often than not that was the case.

now show english speakers as a percentage of occupied land.
1 billion people speaking mandarin in china is not the same as 1 billion people english speaking spread all over the world.

Trying to type accent marks and squiggly lines is a nightmare. I have found no easy way to do it on my keyboard.

English from the beginning was a simplified language. There were English traders operating along the coast of England back and forth, and by necessity it became an "average" of multiple linguistically close languages. It dropped gender, case, declination and only word-order mattered. Thus, it was already poised to become an international language from the beginning, as it was simple enough for anyone to learn.

Here we are, speaking English to one another, proving it is the world's most perfect language. It has stood the test of time and proven itself to be adaptable to new inventions like typewriters, computer code, even transmission over wires and airwaves. Try that with Chinese or Arabic using early computers.

Yeah, that's why no one really does that, you use autocorrect if you wanna type down a formal message or something, otherwise you omit that shit, not necessary and no one expects it.

If you're talking about characters like Ñ and Ç, that's understandable, since those are their own thing, but they're also present as easy input on regional keyboard formats.
