This one is hilarious. The USA was at the forefront for digital technology after WWII because we didn't get blasted to shit and a lot of new coding and computing concepts were being utilized. The way to generate characters on a computer using the English alphabet that didn't have a bunch of whacky characters or hundreds of different Kanji and shit, made it the default language that the world learned to code with. So, in order to advance from a technological standpoint, English became a must have.
