As far as I know they say Passover is a celebration of the Jewish people passing over from Egypt to Canaan, through the Red Sea, led by Moses, which as far as I understand it is metaphor. Interesting fact Passover and Easter are basically the same thing.

>>524360672Yiddish is the mother tongue of the Orthodox Jews even today. It's what they speak in everyday life. Classical Hebrew is not what Jews speak, it's the language of their scriptures.
