Questions:Afrin is a small town in North-Western Syria, outside the control and territory of the Kurdish-led SDF, and inside Turkish/STG control, which has or used to have a Kurdish majority, but many ethnic Kurds fled to Aleppo due to oppresion.Aleppo is a huge city, maybe 2 million citizens, that have a Sunni Arab majority but sizable Kurdish minority, some of which are Kurdish refugees from Afrin. Aleppo is within STG territory and control, but SDF forces are present in the two major Kurdish neighbourhoods of Aleppo.Is the situation of Afrin and Aleppo impossible to solve? Is that situation a constant source of friction and strife and a hindrance to actual agreements or even status quo?Would one theoretical approach be to station international peace keepers in Afrin and Aleppo for something like 3 decades, to give the STG a chance to prove themselves? Though this might be unrealistic, since I imagine neither STG nor Turkey would ever accept this.Is Aleppo a major reason why STG and Turkey might soon start war, even ignoring the wishes for full control over all Syrian territory like what SDF controls in the North-East beyond the major river Euphrates?
