Ok, I’ll bite. Russia is objectively losing the war. Their economy is in the early stages of collapse, their frontline forces are weaker and weaker every day, the momentum they have is reduced to a (literal) snails pace. Ukraine continues to stack bodies, strike critical infrastructure deeper and deeper into Russia, and force an insanely high prices on Russian lives for virtually no material gain. The reason that Russia is still technically advancing is purely a population equation. They have more meat than Ukraine does. But let’s also remember that Russia is often sending 2-3 individuals into Ukrainian held territory at a time and considering that “gains”. The Russian military industrial complex is beginning to falter (this year a major defense executive in Moscow lit himself on fire in Red Square in protest), Russian companies are now struggling to make payroll, the ruble is plummeting, and several major defense firms face bankruptcy from lack of payment from the government. Putin keeps killing generals and sending older and more feeble troops into the grinder, it’s simply not sustainable.Ukraine doesn’t need to kick Russia out of its territory, that was never a mathematical possibility. The strategy has been and remains to be the systematic dismantling of Russias ability to wage war effectively. All Ukraine needs to do is keep killing the Russians in droves as they crawl forward, and they’re being wildly successful at that.
