if you work for yourself you get to decide when you take time off and whether or not you keep your health insurance
>>
>>524378754
depends on what kind of 'self employed' you are.
>solo shop or lazy retard wagies that won't work without you cracking the whip
you make no money or lose money whenever you don't work
>business with reliable employees who can self manage, or are managed by a competent manager
yeah sure that's true
>>
>>524378533
>limited sick days
this is just stupid, noone can control how often you get sick
>>
yeah an armed revolution needs to happen
>>
>>524378818
No but your boss can control how long they tolerate you being sick

technically there is a thing called FMLA (family and medical leave act) which some coper muttslave will bring up. you can get medically approved UNPAID leave from work for a maximum of 12 weeks. there are numerous catches, like

>only applies to "large" companies with 50+ employees
>need to have worked there for a minimum of 12 months or 1200 hours
>is UNPAID but you still have to pay for your health insurance during this time
>numerous other catches

while it's illegal for them to fire you for taking approved FMLA leave, they can (and it's not uncommon) for them to fire you the day you return from FMLA leave.
>>
>>524378810
yes the goal of any business owner is to shove it off onto others and ride the passive income train but everyone puts in the time as a solo proprietor or dealing with shit employees to get there
>>524378818
>this is just stupid
kek no its not. i'm not responsible for your living. if i hire you and a month later you catch AIDS or something i dont want to be stuck paying you forever
>>
>>524379235
theres something employers really hate about fmla. heads up to any anons here that ever think about using it, they will make evidence to fire your ass. i almost got fired from my job because i used fmla to take two (2) whole weeks off for when we had a kid. i had to take it as that because i had no pto and there wasnt any form to fill for paternal leave
i dont fully understand it but it opens them up to being predatorized by employees and they really hate it, no matter what good terms you are on or how chill the company is.
>>
>>524378533
Yeah, Health Insurance is a racket.
Looks like if you are a younger male who is healthy in US,
you should consider dropping your health insurance to financially make it.
>>
>>524380099
>i dont fully understand it but it opens them up to being predatorized by employees and they really hate it,
The "predator" behavior here is just what you did, taking time off to do something more important than work. That means you're not working for them in the meantime which reduces their profits which is Mega Bad and Evil Awful.

There's nothing more to it than that. They just want you to work no matter what's going on in your life.

maybe over there in bongistan it is. i have skills in multiple trades which i can use across the nation. my only debt is my 3% mortgage. i want for nothing and work an average 25 hour work week. operating as a corporation allows me some degree of avoiding kike taxation. i will retire by age 50.

Indeed. These kids just need a good gimmick.
>>
>>524378818
At walmart all you got was 4 days in a six month period. Hit 5 days and you're gone.
>>
>>524378533
they won't fire you for over-using a few days of PTO but rather give you a negative tally which you'll re-accumulate.
>>
>>524381348
100% depends on where you work. also if you're experiencing a serious illness (or your wife or kids are) then it's probably going to be a lot more than just "a few days" more than your annual allowance. i have a coworker with lung cancer who has been on medical leave since november.
>>
>>524378533
Why didn't you just apply for short term disability?

>noone can control how often you get sick
Low IQ extravert take. Just
>stop going to crowded places
>avoid peak hours
>drive instead of taking public transport
>better yet, avoid people altogether
>work remotely as much as possible
>constantly and strongly aerate the place when have to be with people, flip off MENA niggers who complain about the cold
>homeschool your kids
>wash your hands and face after being outside
That's it.
t. last time I got sick 4 years ago, my colleagues get ill every month in winter

Whats even the point of health insurance? In America you just go to the doctor whenever you want and they bill you and you dont have to pay it back
>>
>>524383372
You have to pay it otherwise the debt gets sold and you're sued.
>>
>>524383372
because it doesn't actually work like that in real life.

I worked at Walmart and have never gotten sick as often as I did at the shitty job. People coming into work sick, filthy customers touching everything and kids coughing on everything. Shit built my immune system up but god damn once I switched jobs I now never get sick.

People don’t see to realize your wages can be garnished for medical debt after they sue you too. I see a lot of people saying just don’t pay but there are a lot of consequences for it.

the funny thing is that during WW2, wages were largely frozen due to the war. companies offered more benefits to compensate for this and thanks to the depression a decade earlier, it became acceptable over time. now we are left with the relics of this system that doesn't work and wastes a lot of money for both employers and employees, just to keep the health insurance industry afloat.

It's expensive because saving your ass from death is expensive and probably will have no return to the economy of the country. Just pull out your fucking credit card, pay the bills and work harder to pay the debt contracted out of saving you worthless life. Don't be a sissy

Not only in America is tough.

I am on netbux and i have access to 100% free healthcare right now but even though i am grateful that i underwent 2 surgeries for free last year, getting the pills for the post-operation was a pain in the arse, since the problem when everything is free is that the medicines deplete faster than they can be replenished. So i ended up buying the pills with my money instead of having to wait weeks to get them by my public provider
