It's ignorant, puritanical, a massive waste to throttle human potential to almost 20 years into a 60 year viability span. Childhood is from toddler to adolescent. This is not sexual and has zero to do with sexual. The aspect that some might view it as such keeps human mammals in childhood a third of their entire viability. They have vast potential, brain plasticity moreso than any other time in life, and energy boundless pent up energy. If society ever wants to advance along with technology, start educating kids with technological help as soon as possible, and matriculate them out of it as early as 14 when they can legally work w2 and majority age becomes 16, when they can legally drive.
