Nope. Tthe word slavic originates from word "slovo", which means "word".
Basically this self naming means something like "people who speak the same way as I am".
And one more - "slavic" is just an English form of original naming, and in english this word originates from Russian variant, where unstressed "o" turns into "a", therefore their "sloviane" turns into "slaviane". In other slavic languages this word is like "sloviane" or similar.
