Why does romanov even have any credibility left? He has been lying about so many things whilst parotting every pro ukrainian claim there can be, from pipe attacks failed, gigantic losses in avdeevka, claiming kursk hohol gains were way more than what shown, also claimed russia gets encircled and takes massive losses during every hohol counterhruk. It reminds me of how they all also loved to cite fighterbomber who was also repeatedly caught lying. They should actually crack down on bloggers for discrediting the armed forces

Those autoloaders don't really seem like they're held back much by the caliber. The cost and complexity may be hard to justify for a lower caliber.
>>DP-28, but chambered in 12ga shotgun for anti-drone purposes
A dedicated (semi) automatic shotgun probably does that better?
>>rework T-72 to have a similar design to a T-14 (armored crew capsule, automated turret)
That probably wouldn't work out due to limited hull space. With drones any new tank design also will need to put a far heavier focus on hardkill active protection, so until that is figured out it's probably a bit early to finalize a design anyways.
>>pod-loaded BM-21 Grads
The Russians seem to have an aversion against that for all calibers of their rocket artillery. I don't think even the newer, 6 rocket Tornado S launchers are pod loaded. I wonder why that is.

>Those autoloaders don't really seem like they're held back much by the caliber. The cost and complexity may be hard to justify for a lower caliber.
It's not so much that I think they are held back, but that the larger artillery calibers are simply more costly and take longer to make. It nut be more cost effective/ tactically effective to saturate an area with tons of 122mm shells rather than 152/155mm. The archer system is the fastest firing system around, something similar to it could drive up, do the artillery equivalent to a drive-by shooting, then get out before the drones/counter-battery fire comes
>A dedicated (semi) automatic shotgun probably does that better
>true, but the pan magazine is perfect for rimmed cartridges, and something like that could carry lots more ammo per magazine than a stick magazine. Full-auto is also great
>That probably wouldn't work out due to limited hull space. With drones any new tank design also will need to put a far heavier focus on hardkill active protection, so until that is figured out it's probably a bit early to finalize a design anyways.
Very good points
>The Russians seem to have an aversion against that for all calibers of their rocket artillery. I don't think even the newer, 6 rocket Tornado S launchers are pod loaded. I wonder why that is.
I always thought it might have something to do with post-apocalyptic logistics. After a nuclear war, having all the mechanisms for lifting pods might not be around, so better and cheaper to have soldiers load it by hand. Might be worth investigating
>>
>>524390735
Westoid tanks are terrible because westoids think bombing is solution to every problem so they stopped developing tanks after '70s. It's not because of the crew number. I think you need crew present in the turret for repair/damage control access.

>The Ukraine's forces shot down 34 out of 35 cruise missiles Russian forces launched atthe Ukraine's cities on the night of 22-23 December. Col. Yurii Ignat, head of communications for the Ukraine's air force, told Ukrainian Pravda the cruise missiles were "mainly" shot down by the air force's ex-European F-16 fighters.

>The 97% intercept rate marks a dramatic improvement—and points to new hardware that's quietly transforming what the Ukraine's jets can do, and at what cost.

>While the F-16's nose-mounted APG-66(V)2A radar is still its primary sensor, the $2-million Sniper pod is an important addition. It's a passive sensor, meaning it doesn't emit radiation—and thus doesn't betray the F-16's location. A pilot can switch off his radar, go emissions "silent" and still detect and shoot at Russian targets.

>The Sniper pod's laser might be its most important feature—and may explain why, all of the sudden, the Ukraine's F-16s are shooting down so many Russian cruise missiles. A pilot can detect a cruise missile or Shahed drone on radar, or on the pod's cameras, and then "sparkle" it with the laser.

>That "designates" the target for laser-guided weapons. It's no accident that the very first photo of a the Ukraine's F-16 carrying a Sniper pod also depicted the same F-16 carrying a pair of seven-round launchers for AGR-20 Advanced Precision Kill Weapon Systems.

>at what cost
He said the thing.
>>
>>524390756
I'd assume that the production cost difference between a 155 and a 122 mm shell is negligible. The most expensive part ought to be casting/hardening/machining, which is pretty much the same process. Steel/explosives/propellant are probably a very small share of the cost.
>>
>>524390906
the number of crew is the #1 reason our tanks suck tho
the 4th guy means the tank has to be larger which means you need way thicker armor, which means the whole thing is so massive it needs servicing every two hours
>>
>>524390981
Maybe? I just look at the price and production times for western 105mm and 155mm, and the difference is pretty substantial. Not sure what shell economy between 122mm vs 152mm is in Russia

This is fucking retarded. Targeting pods like the SNIPER have a very narrow field of view, they're not used for passive scanning and target detection like an IRST system. Turning the radar off while hunting cruise missiles and Gerans would be completely retarded as those targets don't care much about it anways. And they're not shooting down cruise missiles with APKWS either, that's intended for slow shit like Gerans.
Send """journalists""" to the trenches.

>Either way, not easy to build, it took Zeiss a decade or so to figure it out
There is nothing special about optics, mirrors and lenses. Optical lenses got made in 400 BC, by building contraptions that made sure that two stones grind each other on the same angle. The introduction of the LASER was the only large innovation in that field.
It's not like nuclear power, where you got a whole new scientific field. So if Zeiss made some improvement that took them 10 years, someone else with skill and access to technology will be able to replicate it within a month.
That's why optics is so littered with trivial patents in the first place, because any improvement you could make, would get copied in no time.

Making good optical things is more a question of the tools of measurement you have.
Like the Hubble telescope has a spherical aberration, its primary mirror has a production fault. All images it ever made came blurred to earth and then got run through algorithms that try to correct the physical flaw.
If you have good tools of measurement, you can simply make a bunch of mirrors, measure them out, and choose the best you got.
If NASA would have known that the mirror of Hubble was shit, they would have not launched it, they would have made a few more mirrors, till they found one that is better. What they didn't have, was a proper way to measure and check the mirror on ground.

Make thing -> hope it's good -> check it -> if its bad, make another one.
It's how optics work since thousands of years. And since manufacturing of microelectronics is an extension of optics, it also works like that with the end products.
You make tons of CPUs -> you check them -> a core is broken? disable it -> the i7 you wanted to produce is sold as i5 now
You make tons of RAM -> oops, an area is bad -> disabled and the produced 16 GB are sold as 8 GB now

the problem is that the actual wave length of a uv-laser is about 14nm. So precision below 7nm is limited by the wave width of the laser itself.

Yes, heli and jet are at risk of getting taken out but the time they spend in dangerzone is miniscule compared to a traditional arty system. You can also achieve greater saturation by just stacking up more aircraft which is much less risky compared to ground arty. And we're not talking about FABs with wings yet, as they have proven to be an excellent replacement for arty. Long ranged, fast, unpredictable and accurate.

While it will certainly be a long time before AI replaces humans coders, as of today it _can_ produce code on a level that is actually helpful for simple procedures.
If you give a current generation of corporate available AI can, an order to write a test, compile it, run it on a subsection of the system you are designing, and then present the data it received in a format you specify. It will most likely be successful in this task.
So as of now AI is officially no longer meme tier in software engineering, even if it’s mostly good for routine tasks.

It's not hard to paint a moving target with a laser either, what's kneecapping you against faster targets is the maneuverability and range of the missile. APKWS is just a new fin assembly, SALH seeker and proximity fuze screwed to old stock 70 mm Hydra rockets, so it's significantly cheaper and more abundantly available than dedicated air to air missiles while still being good enough for those slow targets.

No. What they ultimately did to fix those images wasn't software based reprocessing, they developed a lens assembly to properly focus the light and sent a space shuttle up there to install that fridge sized block of hardware in the telescope.
They also had the hardware to test the mirror on the ground (and got it right for the KH-11 satellites that used the same but differently focussed primary mirror), they just fucked up using it.

You're oversimplyfying the rest too, but I don't know shit about optical systems, so it's not like I can argue much about that.

There is a tank ditch at Mykolaivka but its of the old style like the ones in Zapo that didn't help in this phase of the war.

No they won’t, Jews don’t value sacrifice, strength, and eternal struggle
The Jews believe they are entitled, where as christian Europeans and even the fucking savages of India believe they have to earn victory, earn peace, earn salvation
This is what makes the Jewish culture undesirable, look at how evangelicals act
Yes only through the salvation of Christ can one be saved, this does not neglect the fact that you shouldn’t sin and does not negate the cause to effect of penance and remorse

Chinese do not assimilate

Chinese have literally more than 4 thousand years of history of not giving a fuck about human death and suffering as long as some elite chinaman gets what he wants.

When NATO kills Serbs, it's an enemy
When a Chinese zipperhead kills Serbs, it's an accident

When NATO destroys our historic monumentts, it's genocide
When a Chinese zipperhead destroys our historic monuments, it's infrastructure project.

Total Chinese Death. I fucking hate Chinese.

It seems like they've built up north of the Konka for around 10 km east of the Dnepr, so they're probably counting on the Russians not getting past that line. Still very surprising they got through Stepanohirsk.
I can't see anything pointing east on maps of the defensive lines, so if they roll those two defensive lines up from there Zaporizhzhia might be properly fucked.
>>

Non of the settlements northwest of Hulyaipole have any apartment blocks. The only place big enough to stage troops are barns.
>>
>>524394315
I doubt the Russians will create a cauldron so large though. I think they might push Orikhiv from the east now that Hulyaipole seems to have been taken, and create a cauldron there.
>>
>>524394315
I don't think that'd hurt logistics too much. The Konka has many engineered crossings east of Komyshuvakha, probably from counteroffensyiv preparations. Still, like you said, that position alone would allow for drone and artillery strikes much further into the rear of Orikhiv. But I don't really see them reaching Komyshuvakha, that one seems to have pretty well established defensive positions southeast of it.
They're already west of the only defensive line mapped west of Dobropillia, so maybe they just push from there.
>>
>>524394529
I'm assuming that commieblocks are concentration points for troops then.
>>
>>524394529
