Kind of!I work for lower wages, as a contractor, I always get offered a job by the clients! Always, including the Municipal jobs... I never take them. Peace is very important to me, but I work hard and try not to waste, I don't burden others, pay my own and save my own.Opportunities are plentiful but beware which you take!

In my area, you start losing food stamps above 1.5k monthly income as a single person. Housing assistance above 1.3k. Medicare above 1.4k. It fluctuations on county but those are estimates. I personally had to find a very good housing deal when I was making 40k a year where I was paying $500 a month for a crackden studio apartment all utilities included. Without that I probably would have killed myself. It is extremely difficult to jump from income where you receive assistance, about 9.5/hr when working 40 hours full time, to about 24/hr after taxes which I would consider lower class but not poverty. That $14 pay gap between receiving gibs and not is the problem in my opinion.
