I traveled around the entire political compass during my life precisely because I discuss politics and change my mind when exposed to new information. If I didn’t, I’d still a conservative like I was as a child, or an edgy libertarian like I was as an early teenager, or retarded libleft like I was in my late teens.

I believe that if someone works, they should be able to support a family on that single income. After food, water, and shelter, the next important aspect of society is community. Basically every town needs community centers within walking distance where people can hang out whenever they want. The ideal situation is to live in semi rural communities of about 40 families (like the Amish, but you have technology), but you can’t do that for everybody because you still need society organized at a larger scale to produce things like medicine. Military is also a necessity, but purely in a defensive sense (no wars for israel). America produces a food surplus, so it can survive a more isolationist position unlike food importers like China. Immigration is severely limited, and only allowed if everyone currently within the country is prospering. Basically, for most of human history, the majority of people lived in smaller communities, and that genuinely is the best situation for human happiness. These communities would self police, allowing for the execution of psychopaths as they appear, like we would in the past. The major issue I have with our hyper atomized society is that it’s specifically built to benefit sociopaths and make good people suffer. As far as government, the only somewhat trustworthy system would be run like jury duty, a random adult is chosen in a lottery every 4 years from each community of considerable size. As far as rank in the political arena, that also is random. Any other system for selecting leaders is too at risk for corruption.
