I notice that the cult of WWII worship/'greatest generation' propaganda has declined a lot in the past few years. Will WWII eventually be seen as an error in the west, or will repressive governments simply make that kind of discourse illegal? Gen-X leaders in several western nations seem to be implementing harsher laws against 'muh Nazis' even as WWII recedes in time.

Napoleon and the French Revolution traumatised Europe for a century but eventually they just became irrelevant and nobody any longer cared.
WW1/WW2 are heading the same way.

Except legally, where things seem to be getting harsher and harsher. Did the UK have 'Napoleonic denial laws' in 1895, 80 years after Waterloo? Were UK lawmakers obsessed with 'the glorification of Napoleon and Napoleonic symbols'?
