fuck I would keep working and hope it happens again, take the money and put it in the markets too should be a couple mil in a few decades
>>
>>524408176
Youd retire after getting 440k? How many years were you planning on living?
>>
>>524409246
Pretty much this.
If a boss gave himself a 240 million bonus, most of his wagies would be upset and quit. So he gave them crumbles.
>>
>>524409246
13k ain't 6 figures
>>
>>524409359
Actually kill yourself faggot. I hate retards who "need" so goddamn much money just to exist. 440k would have me set for life because I'm not a retard.

this was the first year i didn't get a christmas bonus. it was our most profitable year since i'd been working there. we didn't even have a party. i think it's time for another job.

Why are they all black, does this factory only employ blacks, not a very diverse workforce
>>
>>524410349
>>524408154
Not exactly. It's more complicated than that.
Basically:
>Original Business Owner gets bought out for over a billion
>Business Owner requires employees get paid 15% of buyout despite not owning stock as part of deal
>$444k "bonus" to be paid over 5 years
>There is risk of restructuring and layoffs (aka replacing Americans with illegals and H1B) but not necessarily, some may keep their job

I know European markets are literal garbage, but ours double roughly every five years.
See: Dumping all your money in even during the covid melt down you'd be 125% today.

It is that easy, and it ain't gonna stop

>15% of company sale price to go to employees.
>payout is over five years
>new ownership takes 100 million of the payout to automate.
>takes another 100m to fire the employees and pay severance long before the 5 years are over.
>instant 50 million to the bottom line and drastically reduced labour costs.

I started a business in my small town and I start people at 30 bucks an hour in a town where the average wage is less than 30k/year. Why? Because I wanted loyalty to my business. Simple math, and common up until about 20 years ago. I had other local business owners come together and literally threaten to sue me over it. If I interrupted the 12 dollar an hour status quo then I was costing them money. I told them I'd see them in court and it was the last I heard of it. I wonder how much it cost them to hire a lawyer to laugh them out of the room.

All that being said I was uninvited from the local small business owners Christmas party - kek

Notice it doesn't say WHICH employees. If this was a large company it's conceivable that these bonuses only went to management.

Having a bit of a dig, it looks like every employee got this, 440k over the next five years. Looks to be an unironic, no strings attached story of a ceo not being a complete cunt.

If you ignore how stagnant wages have been for the last 50 years.

Honestly don't even feel bad, that kind of job is insanely stressful. You're basically fighting for your life 16 hours a day just trying not to get smashed or rolled or split in half or boiled alive by the machinery.

It's spread out over 5 years to make sure everyone doesn't bail immediately.
The owner negotiated it for his workers as part of him selling the company.
>>
>>524408154
That or money is about to become worthless very soon and these factory bosses are already positioned for the collapse

I hope that part of the deal was to allow that money to be invested in a fund rather than sit there and do nothing for 5 fucking years except lose value.
>>
>>524410673
desu if they're not retarded this is actually a really good way to do a change of ownership. I've seen so many software companies get bought out and every single employee worth a shit immediately fucks off so it was just a pure IP acquisition that ends up going nowhere.

If they got a 20% share paid out over 5 years out of the sale price (by contract, and if they were laid off rather than quitting or being fired for cause, the entire amount would be paid out in full), there would be a big incentive to stay and help maintain the company under new management while there's a shift-over with new staffing.
>>
>>524408000
i wish i worked in that factory
>>
>>524408000
If you ever get $10k or more, you should invest it all to start generating residual income. Some dividends are as high as 30%, if you are ok with the risk. So $10K will get you $3k/year
>>
>>524408000
go back
>>
>>524416356
1. Most software buyouts are indeed IP acquisition, mostly to stop competition from "disrupting" Big Tech. That's the value.
2. Stock options are better if you actually want continuity from employees and retaining talent.

If the dividend is too big, the stock price will fall.
Normal equity growth is 10% per year, with market level risk (aka still risky).
A representative firm could deliver 10% dividends with 0% stock growth.
If you are doing 30% returns, you are taking on huge risk, it doesn't matter if its dividends or growth stocks.
QQQ is 20% growth for example, and that's rather risky.
You aren't doing better than 10% without taking on risk, that's just the reality.
And since interest rates are high, you can get a decent "risk free" return without even market level risk.
So if you're more realistic you're getting 10% returns per year, not 30%.
>>
>>524408000
crazy that $240 mil sounds like nothing too.
these fucking jews could be paying people more but they dont, why is that?

my problem is big company got bigger.
We need more small companies not big conglomerates.

>company spend years R&D on process to make cabinets for netork and cellphone tower etc
>big corp sees PROFITS
>Big corp could spend million build up their own division and take some year to get it down in manufacturing
Or big corp can just buy out someone that already did that work and start profiting now.
reducing small businesses and therefore competition.
