Where did all of the China simping come from? With Gen Z/millenial people especially. I feel like growing up I always had an interest in China, but these people take it to a weird extreme. They like word for word parrot CCP propaganda points:
>”Taiwan is Chinese <3”
>”erm sweaty xinjiang’s occupation is a counter revolutionary struggle against dengist blablablablabla and not a genocide”
>”wow but have you seen the LEDs? have you seen the drones???”
It’s becoming really frustrating because you can tell these are not people who have moderate, evidence based views of China. You don’t have to say that China is a shithole full of bugmen and that there’s no nice cities or whatever. But you do have to be intellectually honest and also acknowledge the downsides: censorship, harmony(repression) over freedom, a sometimes cavalier and selfish attitude towards other nations, ecological carelessness etc.
