They're basically if not exclusively served as appetizers. The only options are habing them grilled or fried. Chicken hearts you could serve in a salad if you wanted. They're very good and a tender meat from my experience. And they're exclusively served grilled or should be. They should not be fried. It's a real shame chicken gizzards have fallen out of fashion. They used to be relatively prevalent.
Also the difference being of course that hearts and gizzards are pure muscle. Basically. I believe the gizzard is muscle. I'm prettybsure that's what it is. If not then it's very similar if not identical. Neither chicken hearts or gizzards have an organ type quality like liver for example.

I tried to eat some just to try when the prices started to rise on people food.. Granted I don't know how to properly prepare them but they were not appetizing and they got dry fast. I only finished it all as I had bought it with my money
