Maintaining all this infrastructure is quite expensive, and it is not nearly as lasting as conventional energy sources. In practice, it has its uses, such as powering small things like night lighting and traffic lights, but on a large scale, conventional energy sources make much more sense, especially nuclear energy, which is clean, does not harm nature, and is very cheap. Not to mention that the power of renewable energy sources is simply insufficient for industrial production.
